Question Jacking up the S...Hear a POP!

hey guys. well today i was jackin up the S and all the sudden i hear a loud POP/Crack. i figure it was either the jack...flat piece of wood i was kneeling on...or... the S

If anything where to pop due to twisting or anything like that...what should i look for? could it have been my jack??? its sitting on 4 jack stands for the night right now so im gong to crawl under there and take a look in the morning.

the pop was from the metal "cap" on the jack, very very very normal.

The X-bone chassis is pretty stiff and it almost doesn't twist.
I've jacked it up at the rear (not in the centre) and the front would also raise.
And still the doors open and close like normal.

it should, it's cost 34k and it's just cheap arse steel.

if you have a aluminum tub, fiberglassed body then it's another story

Some jacks have little teeth or raised portions around the edge of their cup/saddle. Does your jack have these? Maybe they all do come to think of it. Anyway if the teeth on the saddle aren't lined up when you start lifting the cup can slip a little and cause a snap or pop sound. I have had it happen to me on the front center jack point. There are actually little oblong shaped holes on the front center jack point. I never noticed them until one of the jack saddle teeth slipped into one of them when I was lifting it. Now I guide the saddle tooth into the hole before the jack is loaded with weight.
I wonder If this is the reason these oblong shaped holes are present. They don't seem like drainage holes and provide a good bite/grip for a jack saddle with teeth.
As far as the chasis/unibody flex, not much. It is just barely noticable when opening and closing the doors. Nothing like when I've had an 02 Civic up on stands.
The unibody is so stiff that if you have 4 cheap jack stands (like me) placed on the 4 side jack points on a slightly uneven concrete slab that is unlevel by maybe an inch (like me) it will actually float a few millimeters over the saddle of one of the rear jackstands. I have to park carefully to avoid this phenomena when jacking up the car.
