This is good advice Billman, and thank you for the clarification. Maybe this point needs to be made in the FAQ at the top of the forum. I only say this because there is a picture from the DIY oil change link which shows the "incorrect" way to jack the car.

My solution is to use a small jack to lift the side using the rearmost front jack point, then put my big floor jack under the central jack point under the engine. Once I get the car high enough with the big jack, I put jack stands under each side of the car.

You got lucky, that point is not made to support weight.
I've got 10+ s2ks that have used this point and crushed it upwards enough to show on the fender.
Get under the car and have a closer look. You can see the dispersion posts (reinforcement) in the rear one. AND it's thicker.
I don't understand what needs clarification. The front/front is not correct and that's it.

The yellow circle is where the correct jacking tab should be. Since the incorrect tab is behind the wheel (note the red line), that tab is also part of the frame. weather it be strong enough, is beyond me. I don't work for Honda. I can only access engineering schematics at Toyota. I honestly believe it's not possible the fender bent because of jacking in that area... correct me if i am wrong though.
And don't take this as a flame... i would've never thought that front tab wasn't meant for jacks if you didn't mention it.

By the numbers anyone? I need to wash under there , tomorrow when the wind dies down.
Between 17 <-> 23
and not 5 <-> 8 or 8 <-> 16

In front of the vehicle, use the 2nd tab. That's the correct jacking point. the first 1 will bend/break.

So 17 to 23?
Anyway another problem - my floor jack only goes down to 5 1/4 in... seems the tabs are lower than that maybe I need to look for another jack... or a slight lift on from the fender.

How I lift the car:
Drive the front of the car onto plastic Rhino Ramps.
Jack up the rear to max jackstand height using a floor jack under the dif, put jackstands under the subframe (my jackstands are rounded and work well here, you can also use the rear corner points)
Finish raising the front with the floor jack under the center jack point (now that it's on ramps and high enough to access) put jack stands at the correct front jack points, between 17 and 23

Great info! I did my first oil change on my 06 and had all the same questions and a huge lump in the pit of my stomach as I jacked the car up using my hydraulic. Then I was baffled where to put the jack stand for safety. I wound up putting it a little rear of the actual jack flange point which was occupied by the jack. I didn't lower the weight onto the stand though it was set to millimeters below the jacked height. I figured that if the jack failed the least of my worries would be a little bending. But the info everyone supplied clarified what I imagine every owner is unsure of. Never knew about the front center jack point. On my first S, I put the jack under the forward tab of the front and after a certain height was sickened when it did bend slightly, though it was barely noticeable, thankfully. Honda should make it a little less ambiguous, though they must assume the dealer is doing the oil changes I suppose.
