Default It's time for brakes - what to do?

Hello everyone, my S is finally going to be needing rotors and pads replaced for the first time so I'm just looking for some advise on what to do. I do the occasional track day and spirited drives so I definitely don't want to cheap out, so here are some of my ideas.

Option 1:
-Refinish OEM rotors (I'm an apprentice tech at Honda so I can do this for free)
-OEM pads or Hawk HP-S pads

Option 2:
-Brembo blanks
-OEM pads or Hawk HP-S pads

The only particular reason I'd be going with Brembo blanks is I can have them at cost through my friends tuning shop and I've been happy with them for the past year on my EM1. However, if any of you think differently I'd love to hear you opinions on what I should change/keep the same.

Thanks for your time!

Do not get HPS pads. FAR worse than OEM. Worse feel on the street, and WAY less suitable for the track. Not that OEM are suitable for the track, but the HPS are utterly useless/dangerous there.

On rotors, if they're at or very near minimum thickness, replace with OEM, Centric (Tire RAck carries them), or the Brembo blanks. I wouldn't bother "refinishing" rotors. I used to do that all the time with the Z's rotors, but it just shortened their life. Since then I've always run rotors down to near min thickness and never had any issues.

How many miles are on your car? Your rotors may be fine.

I honestly put Hawk HPS (Yeah I know, everyone hates on these on S2Ki) and they've been great. Dust is probably on par with stock and the stopping power too.

I do occasional Auto-X on them as well.

Fernando, from those choices Brembo blanks with OEM pads.

I recently did the stoptech sport kit with cross drilled rotors and stainless lines. I think it was a great kit. If you look around you can get a good deal online. I found mine for <$500.

I switched last week,.... went with centric premium and carbotech xp10/xp8 because i wanted better braking.
oem work great for the street though if thats ALL you will do and with the cost of Centric,....its a no brainer vs machining old rotors down
