I would seriously advise cryotreating anything you can get your hands on. While it doesn't make the parts invincible, it does dramatically reduce wear on them and lengthen their life. Cryo treating also has the benefits of keeping heat lower than non treated parts. Any metal parts in the car benefit from this process. I've been using cryotreated brake rotors for several years now, and they have typically been the last set I've ever put on the car. I've also had it done to more than one of my rifle barrels with the same results. The guns shoot more accurately, and require less time to heat up and cool down. It has also done wonders with some of my pocket knives. The blades are stronger and hold an edge MUCH longer than untreated steel. It's a winner all the way!

If you're still curious as to the benefits of this process, I advise you to check out: Diversifed Cryogenics
Exactly! Deep cryogenic processing can lengthen life by 2 -3 times. Better heat dissipation, and increased tensile strength.

I do deep cryogenic thermal cycling which cycles the temperatures between extremes, multiple times. Data has proven that it does more than just cryo-treating is good but not as good as thermal cycling.

If all you can get in your area is cryo-treating, some call thermal cycling, do it. If you are in the Tampa area I do this process for tha same price. Thermal cycling is more than just down to -320 degrees, hold for 48 -60 to hours and back to room temp. I do that multiple times which has a greater benefit.

To do my differential do I have to dissassemble it? Or do you do them as a complete pumpkin?

You have to disassemble your diff because there some parts that don't like to be frozen....like your bearings,Rubber bushings, etc

That's what I thought. Are there any downsides to cyro?

Jeff I have an 05 diff here, and I'm waiting for my 457r's. Are you headed down this way? Should I bring them up to you? How do you want to work it. and please pm me with an estimate of cost.

Thanks

That is what all of the companies call it. Actually Deep Cryogenic Thermal Cycling is patented by COLDFIRE. I have the rights to use it in the Tampa Bay area and web sales. Most companies go from room temperature to -320 degrees hold for 48 - 60 hours and back up to room temperature. The Coldfire process cycles it mulitple times between extremes.

Ask the company how many times they cycle it. If you have a Coldfire facility by you take it to them. It is a proven process and patented.

There are a lot of fly by night operations that decided to cycle it but don't know the rangers and the correct way to do it.

That looks like a Coldfire machine. They probablty aren't licences but that won't matter. If they are still doing te coldfire process, get it done.
