Nope, you pretty much summed it up into one tidy sentence.

TWM makes itb's for the s2k as well. http://www.twminduction.com/ThrottleBody/T...tleBody-FR.html

While your at it you may want that hondata intake manifold heatsheild. People disagree as to whether or not it makes power, but I personally believe that a lowered intake temp=more power. You may also want to check out this or last months issue of honda tuning which features a S with TWM itbs. Good luck.

Yes, you will need an EMS and a good tuner, but I have read on here that they are a real pain to tune for a street car.

it shouldnt be that hard......i cant see why someone hasnt figure out a piggy back system for the stock ecu to use with ITB's yet....

my old 88 m3 has ITB's stiock and its pretty simple....the ecu is very basic too

Hayward performance makes an ITB setup for our cars as well. Kingmotorsports.com use to sell them. I don't know if they still do. There are a few guys on here that had an ITB setup you should probably contact. Learnerspermit is one of them. I think after all is said and done with, you end up spending more for ITB's than you do for a supercharger or turbo.

ITB has a quite non-linear (and even non-1-to-1) relationship between MAP sensor signal and air flow. While this behavior doesn't affect full-throttle fuel/ignition tuning much, part-throttle accuracy can be very tricky for tuning ITB. When I had ITB with my miata, the SDS fully programmable standalone ECU (not a high-end one) had no problem with full-throttle tuning and was OK for part-throttle tuning and passed emission tests no problem (which is NOT a given for ITB tuning) with cams, port work, etc. It's only after my TPS-blending add-on circuit that I could really have good margins in the tuning with the ECU. I doubt a piggyback can do a good job in that regard because of the unique MAP sensor signal to air flow characteristics.

IIRC, E30 M3 runs MAF instead of MAP. MAF doesn't have to deal with the unique MAP-to-air-flow characteristics from using MAP sensor and therefore requires a less sophisticated ECU. But then, the problem with using MAF for ITB is that MAF is located further upstream of the throttles plates. This will 1) delay response of air flow signal, 2) require a limited-size airbox/plenum between ITB and MAF that reduces instant throttle response from the ITB.

If you can find a right tunner that know ITB's. Let me say you will have one heck of a respond machine.
