Default Issue when cornering

Hi folks, i have just bought an S2000, it is a 2003 model with 60,000 mls and i'm not sure if this is normal or not but, when i corner and accelerate the car tries to pull straight (to the left on a right hand bend and to the right on a left hand bend) and if i lift off it turns sharp (to the right on a right hand bend and left on a left hand bend). I noticed i had a broken roll bar drop link and have replaced both front links but its still happening. It is fine in a straight line accelerating and braking this only happens during cornering, is this normal or is something needing looked at?

Thanks.

Is this neutral-to-oversteer tendency inherent to the car? The S2000 is pretty sensitive to throttle and steering input through a turn. Unlike most cars that have a load of understeer built into them.

He seems to be getting massive understeer under throttle. First start simple, check tire pressure.

I have checked tire pressures, all at 32 when cold, replaced both front anti roll bar links (One was broken) my tires are not matched though, Dunlops on front with 3-4 mm tread left, and no-name brands on the rear both new, wonder if should replace all tyres with a decent make so they are all identical? car is fine on the straight but seems unstable cornering, and its more pronounced in faster/tighter turns.

Yeah different tires will definitely do that, especially if they have different grip levels.

Its normal for this car to bumpsteer and pull slightlu toward the outside on acceleration and then bumpsteer anx pull slightly to the inside when decelerating.

Under magnified circumstances, that's what people call "snap oversteer".

Make sure the alignment is good, fix the sway bar link, and check the tire pressure. It might make it better

I replaced a tire that got something in it with a new tire they only had maybe 1000 miles on them. but I noticed when I would get going in a straight and say 4th gear on the throttle and quickly lift the car would walk in one direction.

This is because the LSD was working to keep the tires rotating correctly as if I was turning. This was because my new tire on the left was ~1cm larger outside diameter than the old.

The tires need to be the same diameter and I was told that prolonged driving with that setup would ruin my LSD. So i bit the bullet and got a second new tire on the right side.

Both rear tires need to be the same size. you shouldn't feel any walk left or right when lifting quickly off the throttle going in a straight line.

With them both being different brands it would tell me that they were changed at different intervals and giving you different diameters which causes this walk.

It felt ridiculously unsafe on mine for the day or two I drove it with one new tire and one slightly used tire.

it would walk goingin a straight line which was manageable but any kind of lifting in a corner even at slower speeds tended to give me that snap oversteer feel and it never felt like I had complete control of the car because I wasn't sure how it would react exactly when I lifted from the throttle.

I would look into replacing both rear tires if you can tell they are different diameters filled to the same PSI level.

Got Hunter wheel alignment done after i replaced both ant roll bar links and found the front passenger wheel was toe'd out and the rear passenger wheel was toe'd in, he also tweaked the camber and castor and checked tyre pressures (Crappy shell garage pump is wildly inaccurate) so car is much better behaved now even with existing tyres, so now will change the 4 tyres for all same make and going to change inner and outer track rod ends as the existing look a bit shabby and will have wheel alignment checked/adjusted after this so it should be great. Thanks for the suggestions, much happier at speed in the car now.
