intermittent power loss in the 6-9k range

Hey Matt,
very easy fix as cdelena informed you do a search on this little map sensor. You will find out that some including mine need a little wack know and then. Very easy to find and remove in the Engine bay. It has map sensor on it and two little screws. Do this and your stook will run stronger than ever before

Matt,
I would try the map sensor. Perhaps Honda has improved the map sensor for the 02 and 03. Can anyone identify if there is a new part number?
S2k...thanks!

The part number for all years is the same. In fact that sensor (37830-PAA-S00) is used for many '98 - '02 Hondas (I am unsure of later models).
But as noted just giving it a sharp rap sometimes cures the problem.

Thanks Cdelena,
Hoping for a new part number was just wishful thinking on my part. The reason I thought there may have been an updated part because it doesn't seem as though the 02's and 03's have the problems associated with the faulty map sensor. Perhaps they do, but it doesn't seem as prevalent.

UPDATE:
the problem is gone. I tapped on the map sensor and changed the oil...it had been about 2000 miles since my last change and it was about 1 qt low. i changed the oil and voila...everything is better...either there was not enough oil pressure at high revs or the map sensor fixed the problem....whichever it was...the problem is gone now.
thanks for all your suggestions.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic. But does anyone know a good place to get a new oil pressure switch (stock or aftermarket) without paying the dealers prices ($67 I think)?
I appreciate your responses. I broke mine during oil change ( I know I know, but still have to get it fixed!)
