Most Honda's don't have a Mass Air Flow Sensor. (MAF) Most GM vehicles do. Since the Service Manager doesn't actually work on any cars, I wouldn't take his word on always being technically accurate.

Troubleshooting random misfires is a complicated process, that can be time consuming. (As you allready know) You have contacted customer service, who can apply pressure to the Dealer to repair the problem.

There are many things that are on the troubleshooting for misfires. Including valve clearance inspection, moving suspect coil packs to adjacent cylinders, fuel pressure, the list goes on. I'd reccomend continued contact with customer service to resolve your problem.

Of course they have replaced the spark plugs?

I had an intermittent misfire and after checking everything twice and cleaning and gapping the plugs I replaced them and haven't had one since.

Talk about a long process - 70K miles and 2 years later, still no resolution. I think the hardest part is actually getting to the dealer when the problem is evident. Every time I get there, it stops. Maybe this is like cell phone service, and is a geographical issue - bad VTEC reception.

Yep, they've been replaced (by mistake), and were replaced with the wrong plugs, which were supplied by Honda. That's another whole debacle.

The 'Lemon Law Formula' works out to me owing honda about $15G.

I looked into that about 20k miles ago.

I should have just returned the car the day they replaced the ECU, but I thought the problem was fixed.
