Interior Light Malfunctioning.
My interior light has been malfunctioning lately. They never come on when I open my door on the "door" setting. They only come on when I press the lights in on the "On" setting. This has been very annoying and I'm wondering if anyone has this problem and know the way to fix it. Thank you.

Check if the passenger door has the same problem.
Check if the "door open" indicator in instrument panel works.

Below is a diagram of the lighting system (AP1). You said the door open indicator works for both doors when the overhead light switch is in the "door" position. That would indicate a fault in the BLK/WHT wire, keyless control module, the GRN/YEL wire, or the "door" position of the overhead switch.
But before you start diagnosing the complicated stuff... start with the basics by checking the bulb. I know it is a silly suggestion because the lights work with the switch is in the "on" position. But I'm wondering if the bulb has 2 filaments. Maybe the filament operated by the door switch burned out, but the filament operated by the "on" switch is still good.
As silly as the suggestion to check the bulb seems, doing so would be less silly then spending hours or $$$$ checking wiring when the bulb was the problem all along. Start with the simple solutions first.
Good luck, and report back.
