Default intake + under panels

After doing some research on intakes, and I have came to conclusion that AEM v2 is the way to go, however, I do want all the stock parts for my car and I want them unharmed. I decided to buy mule underpanels to cut and so I contacted the nearest Honda dealer for price quote on under panels and I got 99 dollars for the passenger-side front wheel well, and around 65 dollars for the lower-shield for the engine. It comes to about 177 including tax. I can get brand new AEM v2 shipped to me for 252 dollars. Is 430 dollars worth paying for installing AEM v2? Or shall I just pay 300ish for Comptech CAI and forget all the hassle?

I am getting the right pieces? The passenger-side front wheel well that is mandatory for the pipe to go through, and the lower-shield that needs some cut on the passenger side for better flow.

Your going to give yourself a headache trying to completely pull and replace those parts. I would suggest either just getting the comptech or installing the AEM and waiting until you want to revert to stock before you actually purchase the parts.

get with HardTopGuy -- you'll get a better deal on the parts you need -- he really came through for me when I needed to replace all the underside panels on the right side that a road-gator took out

Life has enough garbage to deal with. Don't worry about this stuff till the time comes. Just cut away.
BTW, the AEM only needs two sections of plastic cut and neither is to let more air in. Letting more air in is your choice and would be the 3rd piece you cut. Here is a couple of pics to show what two pieces are cut:

If you live in a very rainy area, consider making an "umbrella" for the filter if you park it outside in the rain. This will minimize the chance of sucking up water into the engine.

Thanks everyone for the advices. Oh ya I completely forgot about contacting hardtopguy before buying any OEM parts.

If you follow this thread:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=118569&hl=

and to MacGyver's page:

http://users.myacc.net/~macgyver/Michelle/...erformance.html

it seems like the shield is easy to replace and cut, but the wheel well seems like a pain. I can probably cut it myself but I don't think I can replace it myself. How much do you think any local body shop would charge for that? Any rough estimates?
