Intake hose removal issue

Idk if it's even needed? I was thinking about just capping mine and removing hose all together. It would look nicer, but I didn't. I need to find out what that hose is feeding air too.

Yes, it is needed for the the secondary air injection system, which is mainly used for cold start emissions. Meaning it only affects cold start emissions. You can only hear it working during cold starts where it has a distinct whine.
The system, hoses and crap all weigh 10 lbs or so. You can remove it but it will throw a CEL unless you buy the izze air injection module that "tricks" the ECU to thinking its still there. Then you can pull all the crap off the car too. You can also buy a block-off plate for the intake manifold.

I started installing my new full blown motorsports radiator and fujita intake last night and that hose is what made me leave it for today. I must've pried on that thing for an hour. Definitely trimming it now that I know that works.
