Intake hose removal issue

Default Intake hose removal issue

Ok this rubber gray hose coming off the intake is giving me HELL. I've pulled clamp back, and I pull it over and over and it will not break free. I can't get my channel locks to break it free either, because the metal cup it's sealed over turns too. I've pulled the edges back with a small flat head sprayed PB blaster into it and still nothing, I'm getting way to frustrated with such a easy task lol

Anyone else deal with this before? I'm thinking of just ordering a new one, or trying to cut this one and hope it has enough slack to fit back on.

BTW reason I'm taking it off is to put my K&N intake on.

I replaced the alternator and belt in less time then I've been fooling with this thing

Grab the hose where it is over the fitting and try to unscrew it like a bolt. Channelocks work best.

I tried that but it won't work because the piece it's over moves as well. It's just mounted to a free spinning metal cup. If that's would stay still it wouldn't be a problem.

That nipple pulls out of the arm just like a hose.

Hmm, I threw on a PRM intake saturday night and the Air Pump hose (one you have pictured) gave me no issues whatsover. I used some needle nose pliers to move the clip off. I undid the intake arm off , slid it off the tb and then pulled for this guy to pop...

I did have trouble with some of the smaller ones - I use a flathead screwdriver and gently pry the hose up all the way around and then leavethe flathead in, push up on it with my left hand and pull with right and they came off easily.

Mine was a b*tch to remove when I installed my K&N. I wound up cutting an inch off the hose. I had more than enough left to install on my K&N. With the OEM intake arm out of the car I was finally able to wrestle the piece off, but it was not easy.

Thanks guys I got it. I hadn't tried putting the flat head to the bottom of metal cup and pulling bc I was afraid it might rip.

Got sick of fussing with it so I rammed it down there pulled back and finally it came free and didn't rip.

im fairly certain i cut mine too when i installed my CAI since there was no way for that metal piece to attach to my new intake...cut it right below where the metal ends and put a hose clamp on it...ive had zero issues the 3 years ive had my intake
