Intake Filter Fell Off
I am running an aftermarket filter in my stock airbox which I check and clean every few weeks (I also have a snorkel). Well, I check yesterday to find the filter separated from the base. Basically I've been running no intake filter for 2-3 weeks. The car feels fine and I'm guessing nothing will happen, but I was wondering if you guys have any advice. Thanks.

The proper aftermarket filter would have that little peg on the end to prevent that from happening.
What's done is done. Nothing you can do about it now. Don't let the thought of all that sand going down the shute keep you up at nights.

Make sure it doesn't happen again.
If your filter doesn't have that peg make something to prevent it sliding out of the tube. Or put a clamp over the tube?
It is sand down the shute.
(thats the equivalent of "Water under the bridge" )

yea, the filter did have the peg, but it must have slipped out. I forget which brand it was, but the filter was all blue (not foam). Anyway I put the stock one back on until my K&N arrives. OOOOOOO well...
