Default Intake Check Valve Direction/Orientation?

Can anyone let me know in what direction the intakes check valve is supposed to flow air?

I have an AEM V1 and I've been getting the P0411 CEL for a while now. I wanted to be sure that the check valve was on correctly to eliminate that as one of the causes . As I currently have it oriented, the air flows into the black canaster, idk what the canaster is called but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. I'd appreciate any help to eliminate that problem. Thanks

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I don't have the OEM check valve, it's a regular one from the auto parts, so the diagram that shows the actual part really doesn't help from what I can tell. I never had the OEM valve since I first got the car so I was never able to check it myself. Have either of you actually removed it and checked in which direction the air is allowed to flow to?

Flip your valve around if you're getting P0411.

Its a Vacuum Check Valve only allowing air to be sucked into the line from the engine.

Alright, so the air is supposed to flow from the engine/manifold, through the check valve, and into the air reservoir correct? And it's supposed to stop air flowing from the reservoir into the engine/manifold? That's how I have it installed while getting the P0411 CEL, so I'm assuming that it's being caused by another issue.
