Installing a size 56 battery
How do I tie down the bigger size 56 battery? It is the same height as the stock one, just around an inch wider and longer. I just need a way to tie it down. Do i need a bigger holder? How will I hold it down?

BTW: Here's the reason why I bought the Kirkland Size 56. It cost me exactly $1 more and has 125 more Amps than their size 51R. This one has 590CCA and 750CA. Pretty impressive for around $36!!!

When the base dimension is bigger like this, does it still sit inside the battery tray or does it sit on top of the tray? You may be able to get different, longer hold down rods and modify (bend) the bottom bit so it can run up the side of the battery and use a slightly longer bar across the top.
If it sits up higher, you'll need to make sure the terminals don't touch the hood when it's closed. That would not be fun.
I suppose you could also get one of those heavy duty black rubber bungie cords.

it's the same height so I don't need longer rods. What I do need is a longer bar on the top that's narrower in the middle due to the vent holes. Where do I find one? hmmm... i wonder which car uses the size 56 batteries... And, I need to stretch the base quite a bit... how do i do that?

I got a Nascar brand type 34 made by Exide over at Sam's club for about $60ish that puts out CCA of 770 and CA of 950. It's only an inch wider and has the same length as stock so I extended the holddown, added a L-bracket, and isolated the battery from the bar with weatherstripping. It fits the space perfectly.
You never have to worry about running the battery down with this puppy.

hmmm... if I could find a car that uses size 56 then I could just snatch the bar n possibly a base from a junk yard and not have to make it.
I don't have many metal working tools so I'm trying to find as many pre-made parts as possible.
