Greetings.

A friend of mine and I are going to install an AEM CAI tonight, but we're concerned about the radiator // coolant system. In the instructions, it says to drain a gallon of coolant from the system and save it because it will be used later. HOWEVER, my friend is concerned about getting air into the system, as he's had bad luck with coolant systems in the past. Is this something that we need to be concerned about with this particular CAI, or are there extra precautions that we need to take? Any comments would be appreciated, thanks!

~ Ryan

P.S. We're going to start this installation in about 2 hours from now, @ roughly 9:45 - 10:00pm CST. If you have any info that you could lend before we start, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I'm sorry I don't know what a CAI is. Filling the cooling system is easy by removing the small rubber cap from the aluminum heater line which runs along the firewall behind the motor. Fill, with the heater on until coolant comes out, and cap. Sid

CAI = Cold Air Intake. Still concerned about getting air into the system though.

Where does it say anything about draining and saving coolant?! That sounds really odd to me...

See my webpage for install instructions and pics, no need to screw with coolant except for quickly unplugging and plugging a few lines along the way, nothing under pressure.

The only thing that involves coolant is the hose that's connected from the manifold to the T.B. and only a lil bit dripps out of there.

I installed the new AEM V2 a few weeks back. No need to drain...just have a few rags handy.
