Installing 4.44 gear set and need some help
I am going to be installing the 4.44 gear set soon and was wondering if anyone has a step by step manual on doing a differential gear change. Gear backlash tolerances, etc.? Could anyone copy the pages and post them so I could make copies or would it just be wise for me to purchase a manual myself? If so, which manual has the best detail, illustrated parks breakdown, tolerances, etc.? Really appreciate anyones input.

Unless you have extensive experience with setting up a ring and pinion you should have it done by someone with extensive experience. I used a place in So. Cal that does lots of race cars and exotics and has decades of experience. they even make their own crush washers. It would be worth it to truck ship the pumpkin to them to make sure the installation is correct.

Good luck, 4.44s are a great modification for the S.

Thanks a lot for everyones help. I'll probably be taking it off myself and shipping it to Ramjet. I'll give them a call.
Sideways, are they able to get it set up right the first time and how much do you think shipping and them doing it will cost?

They have done several already. Plug and play as they say.
The pumpkin is about 60 lbs.
Truck freight or ground shipping? Call Roger, he may prefer a method of shipping or know of one that is better. I did mine about 1-1/2 years ago and it was reasonable. I think it was $160 but I don't remember for sure. It may have been slightly more. You don't have to buy any washer kits or anything.
