When it comes to Tein springs I've heard of a few complaints where the drop did not match that which was advertised. I have no experience with them on s2k's but on one of my past vehicles that drop was off from what they advertised. I lost trust in them after that experience.

Even if they're knockoffs, the previous owner's car was much lower as depicted from the photos.
Unless the seller was dishonest in this transaction, I can't think of anything else.

That's the fastest way to give a complete answer instead of throwing out these "theories"..
