Default Installed Injen CAI (with videos)

I installed an Injen CAI this weekend and I have since noticed some TCT-like noise coming from the engine. I've heard what a faulty TCT sounds like but mine doesn't sound as severe. Its very faint so I can't decide if the noise I'm hearing is normal or not. I also thought that it could be that I'm noticing the noise more since the OEM airbox is removed. I'm running conventional oil and I'm just about to change it this weekend, so that could be it. But I thought I'd post some videos and see if anyone thinks its the beginning stages of the TCT failing.

This is about 2 mins after a cold start, everything is dark b/c my camera wouldn't pick up the street light. The camera is placed right in front of the engine block near the vtec solenoid. The change in throttle you hear at about 20secs in is me modulating the throttle.

This second one is when the engine warms up to operating temp, the noise is almost gone. The camera is placed at the same location.

This last video is me trying to record the sound of the Injen, but driving + holding camera = bad videos. Its short but it captures how throaty the sound has become at 4.5k and beyond.

Have you ever had your valves adjusted?

yes, it was adjusted 4000 miles ago when I purchased the vehicle cause I already had the valve covers pulled for inspection.

I don't think it is your TCT. I've talked with a man named Curt (Track Time Performance) down here and he assured me that it isn't a thing that happens all the time. Most likely, it is just your valves ticking.

I recently bought my car back in December, and after a couple weeks of driving, I started to notice a tick. Curt said there was nothing to worry about as it was all engine noise.

You might just be like me, and be paranoid since your car is new. S2000s make a lot of weird noises compared to other cars.

Thanks terror, I think I notice it more due to the fact that the large OEM airbox is no longer in the way to block the sound when I have the hood open. I just wanted to get some opinions regardless.

ps. Thanks for the bump on the other site
