Default Install of MECH. OIL PRESSURE GAUGE???

Has anyone installed or know how to install an autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge? Is there a sending unit like with electronic gauges? What parts MUST be used besides the gauge. Thanks all input is very much appreciated.

Oh and P.S. You might want to reconsider a mechanical oil pressure gauge. That tubing I spoke of actually brings the oil to your gauge. Those ferrule connections I spoke of are not always fool proof. If there is a malfunction, you will have oil spraying into the inside of your car under high pressure and it'll most likely be HOT!

Most oil pressure gauges go up to 100. What is the max oil pressure on the S2000?

As with you, this happened on a previous car of mine and I have never risked it since. It wasn't the tubing itself that ruptured but the connection on the back of the gauge. That was the weakest link. I take it that the braided steel line has a better fitting on their ends?

They are all -AN fittings and are very secure. I have not had a problem since the switch...

Now you have me crossing my fingers!

Ah! AN fittings - very good. I think these can still leak. But at least when they do, it isn't a sudden and massive blowout, just seepage.
