Install M-500 PLX unit. Question....
Hi, everyone.
I'm about finished installing the [very nice] M-500 PLX wideband 02 sensor + controller + general wireless data logger in my 2002 S2K. I'm going the route of replacing the stock Primary 02 sensor with the wideband sensor, and then supplying the ECU with the secondary 'narrowband' output that the PLX unit provides in order to keep the ECU happy.
I've placed an appropriate resistor across the stock O2 sensor's heater circuit. My question is this... it seems like even after 15 minutes of driving, the resistors are still hot. Shouldn't the ECU at some point turn off this heater circuit when it thinks everything is warmed up, or is this normal....
Otherwise everything works well. A very nice unit - no need to weld a new bung with this setup!
Any answers from those in the know appreciated!
