Thanks all. I went ahead and tried some stuff and the tape on one side is off in a mere three hours. I managed to scratch the paint up with the putty knife though . I used the goo-gone, WD40, alcohol and a citrus-based cleaner called "Disolve It" (dumb name, good cleaner). Virdict is the Goo-Gone worked the best. I didn't do WD40 in 5 minute intervals for half an hour though, I must confess. The Goo-Gone when allowed to soak, REALLY softens stuff up. I was really happy with the plastic blade until I saw the results. Looks like sandpaper was taken to Remy's paint. I was so depressed that my newly wed bride tried to seduce me that night, and for the second time in my life I REFUSED THE DIDDLY!!! No joke. Well, the body shop is going to buff it out tomorrow, so I guess it will work out in the end.
I side question, if anyone knows... Will Goo-Gone remove Zaino polish??
Another project I have eluded to in this thread is the caliper issue. Many have made suggestions and I do appreciate the input. This body shop guy, whom I met with today, (the shop appears to do a brisk business and comes highly recommended) tells me that this high heat ceramic resin paint should work really well. I am no tracker by any means, but I will give the word as to how it looks and I will post pics too. Aren't digital cameras great? Thanks again to all who answered my thread.

damn - sorry to hear about the plastic putty knife. mine doesn't have a mark on it guess i got lucky..
i did my calipers with high temp engine paint (3 coats) and artist brushs (very small) total cost was ten bucks.
anyway i'd reccomend that you tend to your new wife.. cars come and go new brides only come by once in a lifetime..

Bass... I tend to her plenty, if you know what I mean... nudge nudge wink wink say no more! WICKED EH!?
The body shop buffed out my scratches and I'm good as new. After I paint the calipers, I'll post some pics. I intend to put on new front and back badges as well, but after the side badge incident, I'm a little hesitant.

PP, a good paint kit that you dont have to worry about spraying on is made by FOLIA TEC, and it comes with a cleaning kit, paint and a brush. Instead of spraying it, you brush it on, and it looks a whole lot better, I did my 2002 silver/red with the red kit and it looks awesome. The kits are around $48 but they are from Germany, so well worth it.
