I can only speak from recent Injen CAI experience... Nothing wrong with Injen's CAI. You will need to cut however.

As you probably already know, the cutting occurs down low in the lowest part of the plastic "wall/corner" of the front of the engine bay (just in front of the passenger's front wheel-well) so that the intake tube can be snaked down just behind the "fake brake vent" on the passenger's side. Fairly sure AEM does the same thing as far as cuts...

If I think about it, I'll snag another pic tonight down in the engine bay to show you where the cut is made...but then again, someone else might be willing to post a pic they already have to help you out.

You also gotta cut a hole from the engine bay to the wheel well.
Two circled pieces below are from the same part. When cutting...do not separate the top part from the bottom. The top peice is needed to secure to the underside of the car...

BTW, for what its worth, when we installed the Injen CAI, we did not have to remove the front bumper or front passenger's wheel/tire. And it was not a serious pain working around that fact. Just used a Dremmel and handily did the cutting w/in 5 minutes or so... Did, however, remove the "passenger's side" radiator fan to add necessary clearance for installing the CAI intake tube (i.e. twisting it around)...also having the fan out of the way made cutting easier to manage as well.

w1ngman,

Man, I don't know how you guys install the intake without removing the bumper.
I had to remove the bumper on my install anyhow because I wanted to cut out the front vent.

Phantom, damn that's a really clean cut on the fake vent. How did you manage to get it to look that smooth/professional?

I removed my front bumper, cut a flap in the right fender for the tube to pass though and ran it through. Pretty easy if you figure out the lame instructions. I have the Injen BTW.

Take a look at PRM before pulling the trigger. No cutting, no hydrolocking dangers.
