Not all S2000 engines go through oil quickly. Check yours until you figure out if you have an oil burner or not.

Mobil "Drive Clean" used to be the oil that N. American Honda dealers used in S2000s. Not anymore. "Drive Clean" and Mobil 1 are not the same. One is synthetic. The other is not.

Without taking it out and sending it in for analysis, there is no way to "check" the tranny and diff fluid. If you're going to take it out to look at it, might as well just change it.

This is an under-statement. They'll end up putting dual pump fluid in your diff and diff fluid in your tranny.

Go by the maintenance schedule or change fluids and have an analysis performed (which requires a fluid change) to see if a different fluid change interval works for your vehicle.

Nope. You'll likely end up with the wrong fluid in the diff. Ask in your regional subforum for recommended shops.

10w30 mobil 1 (the regular kind, not the high mileage gold label stuff). I've also never had an issue with losing oil at all. I change my filter and oil every 5k. Check it weekly, but always the same level; be sure to check both sides of the dip stick too. I vtec daily, take sharp turns on power and never have white smoke. I also capped my PCV.

You're actually not pushing the car very hard and thus you've never had a problem with M1. However under high heat of a track day or even an autox you'll find it thins out pretty quickly.

There are better oils for the money, in every aspect.

Car Analogy

Be very wary of having this service performed at the dealer. This car is even more prone to dealer issues then most. Almost all Hondas use the same oil filter, diff fluid, etc. But the S2K is different. Add to that most dealers never see S2Ks, its all too easy for them to use the wrong stuff.

Once your car is damaged from this, the dealer will swear its your fault, not theirs. If you do go to dealer, ask for empty fluid containers and carefully check invoice to make sure they used the corfect fluids and filter. Unfortunately its on you to make sure they did this right. So make sure you research on here what the right stuff is first.

I live n a 90 degree weather so I'm not sure if Mobil 1 good for me nd I need to change the oil now
