Yea I thought that setup wouldnt work because of clearence problems thats why I was looking for another way to do it. I think that air box might work if its mounted so that the air gets to the ITBs instead of being mounted directly on them. Would it work that way?

That is not too far off from just putting a filter on the TB of the stock setup, in appearance anyhow, not sure about function which depends on the diameter of the stock manifold per cylinder vs diameter of ITB's. The best manner to approach it is to form a large airbox that supports the needed airflow and filtration, while still inducting cold air.
