This how been around for a while since the Honda gear lockout TSB. Good DIY writeup here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/772...e-shifter-diy/

Best thing you can do to improve shifting is toss some grease on the release guide and on the fork tip where it sits on the release bearing. That and maintain your clutch hydraulics, I wonder how many oem clutches could be saved if people tossed some grease on there once every few years.

How does one get grease up there [fork tip] without dropping the tranny? And what kind of grease is best -- Honda high temp urea?

Take a coat hanger or a thin painter's brush, dab a bunch of grease on it, then unbolt the slave and remove the rubber boot. Take a light and look up in that bish, you can easily pull the fork out, dab some grease on the tips and on the release bearing try to get all up in it. Then slide some behind the release bearing, it's not easy it's very tricky but it's doable. You'll probably have a harder time bolting in the slave when you're done TBH. That bolt near the hose is a PITA to get started. Anyway, once you get a little grease behind the release bearing and on the part the fork rides on it helps a lot.

*Even if you packed the release bearing with grease, over time the clutch dust and condensation will make the grease less effective, but I swear it works, it's almost like magic. It may not be a long term solution but I'd rather take 20 minutes of my day to slap some grease and kill the squeaks for a few months than drop the transmission and regrease everything.

+1 with HONDA UREA grease. I've done this- annoying but as mentioned, not impossible.
