When I put my LE607 in it was stinky...I forget which was worse though, either the GM Syncromesh FM or the LE607...

I will be doing a fluid change again shortly...I could take a sample of my diff fluid, last change was at 54012 miles on 5/27/05 and I'm now at 67xxx

however when you send it in don't you need to know specificly how much fluid you put in and other sorts of info like that? Or do I just send them a sample? So far the fluid has held up great, or so it seems.

Again, it stunk...I gagged

Yep, in that case it must be that my sniffer works differently. I didn't think the GM SM FM smelled either.

I have put GM SM FM into another owner's car. It does not smell of sulfer. Sulfer for the tranny is a bad thing.
And just to be clear the GMSMFM is NOT a diff fluid.

If Silver thinks the 607 and GM fluids smelled stinky, that's OK, because some people think most petroleum by-products smell bad. However, if he is saying that the stinky smell is sulfer, something is not right. A diff fluid "should" smell of sulfer but a tranny fluid should not.

Yes GMSMFM not a diff fluid...sorry I didn't mention that, that was for my tranny.

And well if GMSMFM doesn't have sulfur then? I just knew that it stank...but remembering it now, I thought the diff fluid (LE607) was worse. If I remember correctly the LE607 smelt similar to the GM fluid but stronger...so maybe there is no sulfur...I really couldn't tell you. I mean, I have smelt sulfur before (hot springs) but if it is supposed to smell strongly of sulfur, I don't think I noticed it

I cracked open a bottle before I came into work. It has a sulfur smell, but not all that strong. Then again my sinus's have been on the frizt for that last couple of weeks so it may be stronger than I think.
