I'm such an idiot... Please help!
Hi Guys,
Some people may have been following my thread where i have finally diagnosed a problem i have been having which was caused by a rubber seal making its way into my vtec solenoid.
Today, i decided to take the vtec solenoid off again, give it a clean, and clean the oil filter, and look for any more fragments of rubber which may have made their way into other ports.
I made a BIG mistake, and decided to remove something which i had no idea what it was. I removed it, and now it will not go back in. I think i have seriously messed up and i'm worried this is an engine rebuild job.
There is a pic below of the item i have removed. Anyone who knows what it is or how to put it back, please let me know.
Thanks, Nick

Yes, i retracted it with an m5 bolt and pinned it with a pin from a nail gun. All back together and running now. I had an urge to panic and try and get it back in at all costs, but resisted the urge and thought i should seek some advice. Was definitely the right choice!
I don't make a habit of removing items i don't know anything about, but i was in a bit of an adventurous mood.
oops!
Thanks again for everyone's help
