man i feel bad you you xviper,
of all the forums ive been on, you are the only mod who consistently helps everyone out, without ever taking a condicending tone.
please do stick by your promise to not phone people. If they need help this forum should be enough.
and i want to thank you for all the stuff that i have learned from you and for all the times that you corrected me.

I'm amazed that people would request to be called. I don't even like the idea of help via PM. I think if I have a problem there is a good chance someone else might have the same problem now or in the future and an open discussion in a thread should be considered a resource.
Plus, in an open discussion your get a consensus (or at least conflicting arguments) rather than a single opinion.

xviper: Thank you for your help as a moderator and S2K-enthusiast on this site. Your advice has helped me and many more people who may never take the opportunity say thanks. Keep up the great work on this site and stay away from the damn phone.

So THAT'S why you never call.
Sniff.
But, really, I think your presence has improved since you stopped being a Moderator -- you're less, um, moderate than you were.
So keep on telling us how you really feel, particularly in those cases in which one or another of the morons hereabouts is trolling for attention. HPH
