Default I'm at a loss, brand new AP2 tails leaking

OKay, so I bought a brand new in the box set of AP2 tails from the dealer, and installed them on my AP1.

After the first bit of rain we had, i noticed condensation in the passenger tail. Honda ordered me a new one, and they replaced it again. I wash the car, and it leaks again and fills up with water. It eventually dries out again. Then now for the last week, my drivers side tail has been leaking when I wash the car or it rains.

I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Everything was installed correctly, and the gaskets were installed as well each time. Does anyone else have this problem with their AP2 tails or am I just having shitty luck.

It has to do with the seals. Becasue we had to cut the rear mounting surface, the rubber gaskets do not seal as well. You just need to put water on the rear lights with the trunk open, see where they leak and remove and calk them with silcon seal in those area. If you did not buy the seals from Honda too, then that is your problem as well.

I bought the new seals from honda from day one, and put them on both sides between the tail and car. I still take it they are not making a good seal all around? I'll have to try what you said with the silicone sealant.

I had the same problem on oneof my AP1 tail lights...I bought a used set off ebay and they seem to be sealing fine....If they're brand new and leaking, I would bring them back to honda. New tail lights shouldn't leak.

The issue is the cuts on the body you have to make to fit the AP2 lights on a AP1. Run a bead of silicone around both sides of the foam seals and reinstall the lenses.
