ignition lock cylinder removal
Hello - have 2004 S2000. Key is very difficult to put in and very difficult to turn. Sprayed electronics cleaner into the lock cylinder but no help. Can I remove just the lock cylinder or do I have to drop the column a bit, take out the shear nuts and remove the whole switch assembly in order to repair the lock cylinder. If I can just remove the lock cylinder by itself, please tell me how. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm sure there is a tutorial somewhere on this site, as I did the labor for a friend who provided the instructions. IIRC, we needed to drop the column....and i think one of the only reasons we needed to drop it was to create room to get a dremel in there to cut a notch into the domed-headed screws in order to remove the entire key cylinder. Once you dremel the screw heads, it's an easy swap.
