Honda designed the car to only engage vtec when at a safe temperature. Sure, having the engine at optimum temp is good for piece of mind, but they wouldnt have designed the car to engage vtec if it were of any danger to the motor.

Having said that, oil is surrounded by the biggest myths in the automotive industry, and no amount of science/proof/fact will neither conqeur the users mind of any associated "theories" and what they will continue to believe.
