Default If you run your car for 24hrs...is there anything you should prep?

I'm thinking of taking a trip from Ontario to Florida, so that's an estimated 24 hour drive. Is there any special preparations I should do to my car before begining the roadtrip? Thanks

I'd change the oil and make sure your fluids are all up to max capacity including your coolant, although you shouldn't have to worry about overheating this time of the year. Keep a spare quart or two of oil in the trunk. Check tire pressures. Standard stuff.

Try to minimize the time you are actually driving nonstop without shutting the car off if you can stop at a rest point, or stop for some food etc etc......

I figured it would just be the standard stuff, so thanks! Hopefully I get can the defi oil temp and press gauges installed in time to help me monitor the oil during the trip as well!

Take along some aspirin for the headache you'll have from the noise, and bring a pillow for your butt which will be sore after the third hour

Just make sure your oil is fresh and topped off, as well as coolant, and you shouldnt have any problems. Like Xviper said though, just keep an eye on the oil level when you are at stops, bring a couple quarts of the same oil with just to be safe.

I'd be more worried about what you're gonna do to keep awake!

Bring CDs, sunflower seeds, peanuts, grapes, chips, crackers, etc.
