if you had to choose one of these inatkes...
#7
This poll may not be of much use to you as it depends on who sees this thread, who is interested in your choices and who has first hand knowledge of those choices. Each one will pick based on their own needs and ideas of what they want out of their CAI. What others have as their needs and wants may not be the same rationale you may have. You have not stated what you have in mind for what you want this mod to do for you.

Billi,
When choosing an intake there are several important things to consider
(1) Is this you daily driver?
(2) Is there any chance you could hydrolock your car i.e. does it rain heavily in your area and do the streets get overrun with water?
Now, with that said, there is a thread titled the "physics behind Intakes". In it, we (the posters) actually tried to reason out (backed with physics and just anecdotal evidence) which intake might be best. IMO, if the car is a daily driver and there is CHANCE you could get into some deep puddles, I would avoid the a true CAI i.e. the Injen or AEM. If not, if this is a seasonal driver, then that is a great intake. It has a good design and produces probably the most gains (when used just by itself) of the intakes out there (about 3-5hp). However, if hydrolock is a concern, then I would go with the Comptech and as a second choice, the spoon snorkel intake. The comptech has, again IMO but with some sound reasoning, the best designed intake (of those located in the engine bay i.e. Comptech vs. PRM vs. Weapon R).
The Mugen intake works well, but design wise, I can't the difference between it and the spoon. Additionally, I have not seen it dynoed by itself. The reported gains are usually from people with other mods.
That's my 2cents.
