Idle Troubleshooting
Whats up guys, I need some help troubleshooting my idle problems. I recently acquired a 01 s2000 and the car idles at 2000 rpm and only go's lower if i turn the ac on. I initially thought it was because the previous owner had a cai installed but it wasnt installed properly. He tried to bypass the breather pipe in a ridiculous way. So i removed the cai and installed a stock air box. I cleaned the throttle body and iacv with hopes of fixing the problem but in only increased my idle. I purchased a new bypass control solenoid and a few other missing piece to fix the bypass the previous owner did but still nothing has changed. While replacing the bypass control solenoid i noticed the connector to the wire harness was missing, so i guessed and wired it up as best as i can. But i can't tell if its working or not.
This is how i wired it.
The only time my idle changes is if i disconnect the MAP sensor. Idle drops to ~1000 rpm. Should i replace the map sensor?
Im all out of ideas so please any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

There's a good chance that someone messed with the throttle slack and may have tightened it too much. Search "adjusting throttle cable" or consult a service manual. The measurement is 1/4" of slack, but I'm not sure if that's from it's resting point or low to high???
If not that, it's possible that the po messed with the idle set screw.
If not that it may have something to do with the iacv.

Yes for an ap1. He was referring to an idle related issue connected with your temp sending unit, but it sounds like that's working fine
