Default Idle Problem

I have had the infamous rough idle problem for a few weeks and have tried the MAP whack and nothing has worked. Today I cleaned the IAC with throttle body cleaner, did the MAP whack again and reset the ECU. It idles worse now. Before it was just a rough idle but it stayed right around 800/900 RPM. Now its smooth as can be at normal idle speed but drops off every few seconds and almost stalls. How long does it take the ECU to relearn the new fixes? I just dont get why it fixed the rough idle but gave me the intermittant idle. Any suggestions. I searched and could find info on both problems but not anything on going from one to another. Thanks in advance.

Try resetting the ECU

before you crank the car - make sure EVERYTHING is off - radio, headlights, etc.

Crank the car and let it set for a few minutes.

This was my directions from Slows2k.

there are many opinions on what to do and what not to do. Some say the ECU reset just makes it worse as in your case.

When you cleaned the IAC did you blow out all the excess Carb cleaner before your reassembled?

Have you thought about bad gas? Plug Change? Etc or are these your first steps.

The problem has been going for a while with dif brands of gas so I ruled that out. I forgot to check the plugs. I meant to do that. The IAC was all caboned up. I did blow it out afterwords but not thoroghly. It seemed like it evaporated kinda quick. I'll check the plugs and do reset like you said and let it idle for a few min. Thanks

Also - do you have the MAP zip tie fix from the dealer....or a DIY this could help as well........I also cleaned the harness that plugs into the MAP before I did the zip tie.
Just used OEM Honda Break Cleaner and sprayed it in the tip....blew it out, waited (did this first before the IAC Clean) and then plugged it back in and zip tied it tight.....

not a mechanic but this is almost verbatim of my instructions

I think I got it. Last night I pulled the back up fuse for a few min and then started it up and let it run for a few min. This morning it seemed to be much better. It is a little cooler this morning but idle was smooth. Thanks everyone for your help.
