idle and check engine light problem....
I just got my 03 silverstone about a week and a half ago from a Carmax dealer with 32k on it. It's been running like a champ but today as I came to a stoplight it started idling rough and making a strange tick that followed the rpm's as I revved the car for fear it might die. It never died however I did get a check engine light. Took it back to the Carmax and they apperently got "random misfiring on #4 cyl" so they changed all the spark plugs. They claimed it was fixed but as I tried to drive off the light came back and it was still idling like crap. So the mechanic added seafoam to the gas tank....I fought it all the way but he assured me it would be fine so I gave in. He claimed it was probably just a dirty injector. Now it runs pretty well, almost great, except when I go into neutral on my way to a stop, the rpm's dip down a bit then level out to where they should be...I'm fairly sure that is just the ECU "learning" but we shall see. Does anyone have any experience with seafoam gas additives? Any advice? I'm quite leary of additives.

Seafoam is AWESOME. It's not just a gas additive, you can put it just about anywhere. Gas tank, brake booster line, crank case (needs oil change shortly after). A lot of people I know use it and I've NEVER heard a bad thing about it.

The car seems to be doing world's better then it was so perhaps that seafoam was just what it needed. Maybe it will help me to get 30+ mpg on my 1800 mile move to California in a couple of weeks....heheh
