Idle
I am a bit of a newb, so i have a few questions about the idle:
1) what RPM should our car idle at?
2) if the idle is wrong, what might cause it and what are the solutions?
I have a AEM CAI and Invidia exhaust and my car's idle seems to flucuate between 800-1000, sometimes as low as 700. Any suggestions or info would be very helpfull.
Thanks
Dave

I can't help with question 2, but I believe that the idle for the S2K is 800rpm once the engine is warm. I assume it's a bit higher if the air conditioner is on.

According to the Helm manual, idle on this car should be 800 +/-50 rpm.
If it's a bit beyond these parameters and the car doesn't stall, you shouldn't worry about it much.
The idle can be affected by many things. First would be the idle air control valve/solenoid. These have been known to be a bit "off" on some cars, as well as malfunction all together. Also, your MAP sensor can come into play and these too, have been a commonly reported issue. A dirty air filter, a clogged fuel filter, bad gas (not that kind ), heat soak, A/C use or any number of other engine sensors can cause an irratic idle.

Thanks for the info, it has provided atleast a starting point and a large level of comfort that everything is normal. Xviper, it seems that you know more about these cars then any honda dealer i have been to ( I hope that is a comment ).
Thanks Again
