Hmm...it's either a Gremlin or a bad CV joint that you appear to be describing. Where is XViper on this one? He helped me diagnose this similar problem a while back and he was right. My vote is with a bad CV joint.

Yeah It wouldnt be cv joints. It only occurs with my 18 inch ssr gt'3s. When I put the stock's on, the noise dissapears.

Now I did have the three piece wheels taken apart to be refinished, if they put them back together incorrectly, wouldnt the wheel balancing take care of any issues.

Gremlin? ? ?

hehe Gremlin...yes, tell me you know what those are...I am NOT THAT old.
Have you curbed your wheel recently? If you have a bent rim it will mess your rotational balance up and you won't be able to fix it but throwing a little lead at it.

Gremlin, as in the car, or the movie? LOL

No curbing of rims. I guess I will just have to wait and see if the rebalancing fixes the problem.

I talked to a friend of mine who has the same tires (KDW's), he said these tires make noise, just based on the tread pattern, but its at all speeds, not just at 58 mph and up.

I will keep you guys posted.

its the small Gremlin that can just about lay in your 18's, but for some reason it likes the front.

i will ask it to move to the rear and see if that sorts the front out

Well got my front tires balanced, so far it seems the noise has gone, its really windy today, so i will have to hear the car on a calmer day.

The tech told me who ever balanced the wheels before had no clue what they where doing.

He also showed me a new issue, my ssr gt3's are missing three bolts from behind the barrel. Apparently the place who took them apart to paint them must of broken 3 of them, because they are missing. Problems, problems, problems, never again do i buy used rims and try to paint them. My tech told me not to worry, the missing bolts wont affect anything.

Thanks for all your help guys.

i would try and get some new bolts though. would not like to drive about with a few missing as they help with the wheel strength
