Ideas on how to unstick a stuck seat
Hey guys, im trying to remove my seats to begin a top replacement. Both seats were stuck when I got the car. We wiggles and banged and finally the passenger seat came free. Well, the driver is a different story. Its all the way reclined back so I cant get to the back bolts to remove it, I am pretty sure something is jammed in the sliders. All the mechanics of the seat are working fine, it just wont move. Any ideas on how to clean the sliders out?

What sometimes happens is that loose change gets stuck in the teeth of the slider preventing the mechanism from disengaging.
Options are:
1. Use a coathanger or thin wire to poke around in the sliders to knock things loose.
2. Go to Sears and get creative with tools that will fit. You'd be surprised with what they have out there.
3. Remove the back part of the seat so you can get behind the seat.
Sometimes sitting in the seat, pulling up on the release lever, and trying to slide the seat frontwards and backwards can dislodge whatever is stuck. Try that first.
