And before i get flamed, no i do not condone drunk driving in any way, i spent about a year and a half in severe pain requiring multiple surgeries, and therapy, due to a drunkard hitting my exgf's car. But i cant sit here being a hypocrite saying iv never had a beer with a steak , or wine with my salmon. Then again im also 31 yrs old and understand the difference between 1 and a few.

They do have sanctioned hoonage sessions in parking lots. It's called autocross and it's fun.

I don't see the immaturity in the OP's crash as much as in some of the responses in this thread where it's apparent to me that people utter unintelligent one-liners to trash the OP in order to feel good about themselves. I swear the anonymity of the internet emboldens people to be complete dicks. Sh*t like "you should part out your S2000 cause you don't deserve it" or "you suck at driving, buy yourself a Civic cause it's FWD"... man, I'm ashamed these kids own the same car as I do. Sometimes forums remind me of high school. Stay off the threads if putting thought behind what you say stresses you out.

OP, good luck with your repairs.

Interesting question- Is it aginst the law to drink and drive in a private parking lot? On a public road of course it is but a parking lot? Maybe, maybe not. It may depend on the owner of the parking lot to press charges if there were damage in the parking lot caused by drinking and driving? The more I think about it, I'm not sure that the drink and drive lawa apply to any private property.

As far as I know, you can be cited for simply being behind the wheel in most states while intoxicated, even with the car parked and turned off, as long as the keys are in the ignition. The logic is that this shows intent and ability to drive on public roads while intoxicated. I imagine they could ticket you for driving drunk on a private lot because of the same logic, plus the fact that while it is a private lot, it is still open to the public, meaning you're putting the public at risk.

Even though it is a privately owned lot, if it is open to the public then regular laws apply (as opposed to a closed course). It is still illegal to blow through stop signs, parked in handicapped spots or fire zones either.
