if there is frame damage, is it worth investing in a car that is already a salvage title? What was the prior damage? For the insurance to have "totaled" it, the damage had to be pretty significant since the value of the cars are still fairly high.

For the love of god, don't call your insurance and tell them you wrecked your car in a parking lot unless you have full coverage. As for the damage I'd check the frame is striaght if I was you before I spent any money. If it's bent the car won't drive right and it will be expensive to fix. You can then decide what you want to do.

All the money your going to spend fixing your car could of been spent on track days at your local track. Safe, legal and fun.

Hope you learned your lesson on drinking and driving, good luck.

I think that sums it all up and at least you do admit to it. Hopefully this will be a lesson to drive less foolishly and you will be less likely to be in the painful situation you are in now. Regarding the insurance, I'm not sure why everybody seems so unsure of what is covered with different levels of insurance:
Liability = the minimum required in most states, this covers damages to OTHER vehicles or structures that is your fault
Comprehensive = covers things outside of your control such as theft, vandalism, acts of God
Collision = covers damage to your own vehicle that is your fault

it was in a front end collision previously, hence the 2004 front end. i'm starting to lean toward not fixing the body, it seems at this point it will just cost too much. i'm not sure what to do, probably going to fix the suspension myself to get it rolling, then try and sell as is. the car has 60,xxx miles, the drivetrain is certainly desirable.

i had to tell my insurance or my license would have been suspended, remember, the police were involved.

I cant believe people are hating on age and fun driving, the drinking i get, but who hasn't had some "time" in a vacant parking lot and who WASN'T young once. Idk what state your in OP but i dont even taste booz before i drive anymore, they have serously cracked down with laws and fines and even jail time on the first offense.
