Check the ULTIMATE check engine light thread above.Also,provide more info,such as: year,mileage,mods, blinking or solid cel and other symptomes.IIRC p0301 is a misfire #1 cylinder.

I suppose the first place to start is by checking the plugs. If those are ok it could be a problem with the coil.

I pretty much have the same problem as you on my MY06. I have changed the plugs tried to swap the coil packs and have pretty much narrowed the problem down to low compression on cyl 1. I would rent a compression test gauge from autozone (about 40 bucks) and follow the DIY in here about how to get that done, and while you're at it check the plugs to see if they are bad.
