I warped my head and block :(
I have a MY '00 which is an HPDE only car. I do not need to build to any rules. I am trying not to spend a bunch of money but will spend on projects that make sense. An example is I would rather just lower vtec than put in vtec killer cams.
The engine which warped was an F22. I currently have an F20 block and an F22 head to work. I have both F20 and F22 cams. I have the lower end internals from the warped F22 as well. So the questions are:
1. any reason to not use the F20 block F22 head combo? Which head gasket do I need?
2. Any reason to not re-use the pistons & rods and crank from the warped F22?
3. I'm thinking use the F20 cams to favor the upper RPM range as this is a track only car. Opinions?
4. EMS solutions. I'm not likely to spend much effort on tuning the engine. I only have intake and exhaust mods. So basically I'd be looking to lower vtec and then overcome the inherent rich running nature of the MY '00 ECU. I'd ideally like to set it and then not muck about with it unless I change something. I have a VAFC sitting on the shelf. Should I just stick with that or should I consider something like an eManage ?
5. Any other things I should consider while I'm putting humpty dumpty back together?
Thanks
