I want to replace the rings. Must I pull the motor?

Thanks for all of the help. I was able to get the head pulled off late last night and found my problem. Looks like a full rebuild is necessary. It appears to me the rings in #2 broke.





There is also pitting in #1 & #4 cylinders.



Not sure if I will be able to save the block. Also not sure exactly what caused this (besides my right foot of course). Exactly what caused it would be a whole different thread...

Damn! by the looks of it, you have a lot of work ahead of you. I heard that it's a bitch to hone out these FRM cylinders.
