Default I think I have a blown headgasket?

I have a built motor f22c with a cometic head gasket, the motor has about 1200 miles since the rebuild. I cant figure out what is going on... I have not seen any smoke coming from the exhaust however on a cold start the car has a misfire for at most 5 seconds then goes to a normal idle and I think I get a smell of coolant but within a few seconds the smell goes away. I am also seeing the coolant level in the reservoir go down slowly. The problem does not seem to be getting any worse and the car is not over heating. Does this seem like a head gasket or am I missing something?
