I think battery is dead
i think my battery died last night. But usually when the battery dies the engine doesn't turn over at all. But instead it turned over but struggled to start while my incabin lights dimmed. So, since the incabin lights dimmed i figured it was the battery. So we push started the car, and it worked!!! and it drove home fine, no CELs or odd noises.
The thing that puzzles me is if it really just is the battery. I thought when the battery is dead u just hear clicking noises instead of the engine slowly attempting to turn over??? also i don't remember seeing my battery warning light ever coming on.
thanks

Are you on your original battery? Factory batteries usually average about 3 years, some less, some more. Whether or not your car will crank and fire, crank slowly and fire (or not) or just give you that clicking sound depends on the voltage and cranking amps still in it. At a certain threshold of voltage and cranking amps, you'll get that clicking. Yours may have been just above that threshold or you may have bad connections at the terminals. What do they look liked? Clean? Dirty? Heavily deposited? What's the "indicator EYE" tell you? Have you put a voltmeter to it to see what it says? This would save a lot of guessing. A healthy battery having sat all night should still read around 12.5V with engine off.
And no, having coilpacks have nothing to do with your battery's condition.
BTW, it's not a "battery warning" light. It's a "charging system" indicator light. It tells you if the charging system is not putting out the correct voltage.

AWESOME!!! good to know, yeah i'm still on the original battery (since 2000) and the terminals seem a little dirty. Thanks for the info, yeah i'm pretty sure it is the battery, so i'm gunna clean the connectors and replace the battery.
seeing as how i could push start the car, was i right in assuming that it either was the battery or the starter??
thanks again for the help xviper , u r definetly a valuable asset to this board

You may find that the sight glass (or EYE as Honda calls it) on the top of your battery will tell you it's not happy.
