Default I REALLY need your guys' help

OK, so I started a thread about this yesterday but go no response, I need your guys' help though.

My car heistates like its not getting enough gas, but only when I punch it. If i accelerate at a slow steady speed, theres no problem, but if I want to then no deal. Also, after trying to replicate the problem today, I slowed to a stop at an intersection and the engine just completely died, no lurching forward or sputtering, just dead. When I tried to start up again, it had a hard time starting, like I was out of gas.

Ugh I dont know what it is, I'm not very engine savvy.

And i'm incredibly embarresed to say this, but i've also been unknowingly putting 87 octane in my car. Would this affect it?

PLEASE help, i'm not very good when it comes to this stuff

Matt

it says premium only on the gas cap.

I think it does cause some type of problem eventually... someone smarter then me will probably read this post and answer it in detail, but i'm sure there has been a post about this before, try searching.

here's what I found:

Page 116 of the 2001 Honda S2000 owner's manual says, "Your Honda is designed to operate on . . . 91 [octane] or higher. If you are unable to find premium unleaded gasoline, you may substitute an unleaded regular gasoline. The engine will compensate . . ., but you may notice a slight decrease in power as a result."

also,

That's why the car has a knock sensor.

You're probably ok

ok so i just ran to walmart (ghetto), and grabbed fuel injector cleaner and some octane booster and put both of those in.

For a minute the symptoms increased 10 fold, then it felt like it cleaned itself out, and now no more problem, it had to be the fuel injectors, i've punched it hard a few times and nothing seems to happen.

If anything else comes up, i'll be back though.
Thanks guys

Glad to see your car is working for you. If I were you I would put some Chevron Techron Concentrate (Plus) Fuel system cleaner. This product is very strong though, so you will want to change your oil right after using it. Your car will run worse due to it not being a performance enhancer, but everyone says they REALLY felt a difference after using this and their cars ran better. Hope this helps. Take care!!!
