Unhappy I need some advice with Door Damage!

I'm not getting into why this happened, because I'll just be badgered for it. So moving right along. My car rolls backwards down my driveway with the driver side door open (of course), and the basketball pole catches it, awesome! My door still closes, but it won't open all the way (opens like 4 inches) because the driver door now goes over the fender and gets blocked when opening. It seems as though the hinges or something got bent and the door got pushed towards the front of the car. The door's alignment is basically all off with some minor dents and scratches too.

I don't have the tools to repair it myself, so before taking this to the shop, is there anything I should know? Thanks for anything.

Your hinges are probably toast. Hopefully, the internals of the door didnt get bent.

Yeah. Found the hinges for $40 each. There's an upper and lower one. Also $35 for this other peice called the checker that attaches in the middle...that broke too. Just need to find a cheap body shop to put it all together.

Avionics86,
Will these fit an '04?

-Never mind. After reviewing the part numbers I found that they are the same. It should work just fine.

Just sent you another PM, my mistake but the parts I have are for the passenger door. I really feel bad about this. Is there any one out there that would trade left side door hinges and checker for right sides?

Wow the repairs come out to around $1300. New hinges, door check, and pillar. Plus the body work and paint. Looks like I'm gonna have insurance take care of this one.

"and the basketball pole catches it, awesome!"

I'm trying my best to empathize, but damn that is the funniest quote of the day for me!
