I NEED HELP! IDLE problems
#11
nosuch luck. i guess it just helped for a short time. but the problem is back. and i went ahead and changed out the fuel pump so everything is back to stock..100% for sure.. any other ideas???????
OOOOOO just found this out.. it acts up extremely bad (goes way low and barly bring back the rpms to idle) when the A/C is on!!!!!

As for your original problem, it may be time to look into the Honda TSB for the MAP sensor.

There is a way but I'm sorry, I'm not an expert at this. "Ultimate Lurker" did this on a bunch of brand new sensors to see if there was any trend. He did something like check the resistance and he discovered that in even brand new sensors, there was a tremendous deviation from acceptable performance.
Since you said that the car acted OK for a short time after you fiddled with the MAP, you may have an issue with the wiring harness not holding tight enough. You may wish to read that thread a bit further and see if you can improvise a zip tie to secure the MAP and see what happens.

nope..nothing is fixed still the same old problem, i tried to zip tie the hell out of the mas sensor and i messed with it again befor putting the harnes clip back on and it is still doing just as bad. when i let the rpms come down slow it will hold right at perfect idle but if i just push the clutch in then it will 80% of the time drop to about 200-300rpms then resume normal idle 700-1000rpms....WTF!!!
is their anyway it could be lifters. it sounds like i have a slight ticking in my head?

Your idle situation is a combination of electronic (ECU/MAP) and Idle Air Control. If the ECU has not "learned" to deal with it by now, either there is a definate problem or you are somehow intervening in such a way that the ECU can't learn.

I suggest the following:
1. Make sure you never "help" it when the rpm takes a dive. I mean, when you are coming to a stop and push in the clutch and the rpm goes low, don't give it gas to try and help it or save it. The ECU needs to see that it has these near death experiences.
2. Remove intake tube and expose the throtlle body. Get some injector safe carb spray cleaner and clean up the area in and around the throttle plate. Wipe it out as best you can.
3. Consider a new MAP sensor with the new attachment system (OEM zip lock assembly).
4. Have the Idle Air Control mechanism checked. Listen to it. If it's clicking, this might be what's causing your situation (could be mistaken for valves). A few IAC solenoids have been known to act up.
Also do the usual precautionary checks - air filter, spark plug condition and gap, injector cleaner. You using 91 octane?
